Abstract

The invention relates to a sole which can be made from any natural or synthetic material. According to the invention, bands are sewn between the layers of the sole and provided with links for the passage of the strap(s) used to fasten the sole to the foot. As a result, the user can alter the colour, shape, length, etc. of the straps and, in this way, design the footwear to suit the occasion.

Description

SUELA CON ESLABONES EN SU PERIFERIA QUE PERMITE AL USUARIO DISEÑAR Y TRANSFORMAR SUS SANDALIAS SOLE WITH LINKS IN ITS PERIPHERY THAT ALLOWS THE USER TO DESIGN AND TRANSFORM ITS SANDALS
ANTECEDENTESBACKGROUND
Until now, sandals, espadrilles and similar footwear have consisted of a platform on which (strips or glued) strips of fabric or leather that cover the instep of the foot are mounted and correspond to what, in all types of shoes, is called cut or roll. However, this system has two limitations or inconveniences for the user: a) it is impossible to vary the color, shape and texture of the strips or the sheeting; and b) it is difficult to wash them.
According to an investigation on the state of the art, different types of systems have been disclosed that make it possible to exchange the upper cut of a shoe or a sandal. I will refer specifically to two documents that present an interchangeable sandal. The first (Frédéric patent, No. FR 1034211) consists of a sole whose upper edge protrudes staples intended to guide interchangeable straps that run through a hollow space under the sole. The second (Charles, No. US 2006/0174514) consists of a sole provided with fixed strips to the sole, the ends of which end in a sort of eyelet through which an open hook passes, to which they are also coupled, through the respective eyelets, interchangeable shoe straps. However, the two cases have significant drawbacks: On the one hand, both the clips and the hooks make contact with the foot, causing the foot to be injured; on the other, both the staples and the hooks can be detached when walking.
With the purpose of eliminating these inconveniences, the present invention consists of a sole that allows to exchange the cuts of a sandal or a shoe, using a fixed system of ribbons, provided with links at their ends, which are sewn or glued between at least two soles (one which makes contact with the foot and observes that it makes contact with the ground), thus allowing different upper cuts of the footwear to pass through its links.
These links with ribbons do not exceed the upper edge of the soles, in order to prevent the links from making contact with the foot. The links, on the other hand, do not have openings but are closed, so that they are fixed and can not leave the tape that holds them, the sole can be of any material and have a sufficient height to prevent the links from passing it and the links can be any size, as long as it does not exceed the upper edge of the sole.

The present invention is a novel solution to the above limitations in the case of sandals, huaraches, espadrilles, Swedes and similar footwear. The invention is detailed below for one of these cases (espadrilles), with the understanding that it can be applied to other types of footwear, saving their specific differences.
So far, soles for espadrilles have consisted of one or several layers of braided vegetable fiber. Each of these layers is formed by rolling up and pasting a braid of vegetable fiber, until a platform is known as a warp (natural sole). Modernly, to this warp is usually added, by vulcanization, a thin layer of synthetic material, to reinforce and protect the part that will come into contact with the ground (synthetic sole). Finally, on the composite sole that results from joining the warp with the synthetic layer, the cut or stitching is sewn (if the espadrille covers the instep) or, if applicable, tapes that fit the foot (if the espadrille is discovered).
The proposed invention consists of a sole body that defines an upper section, a lower section and two lateral sides, each upper and lower section are composed of layers (2a, 2b, 2c, 2d, 2f) adding between the upper and lower sections from the sole body some ribbons (3) that cross it transversely from side to side, these are made of resistant and flexible material and at each of their ends they have sewn links (4). In soles with a synthetic layer, this occurs before vulcanization; in natural fiber, before sewing the layers together; in the soles of wood, leather, rubber, rubber, plastic, etc., which consist of a single layer, the straps with the links will be attached to the sole in the most convenient way.
The length of the tapes (3) will exceed just the width of the sole. Thus, the links (4) sewn to it will be attached to its edges, without exceeding them neither up (not to disturb the foot) nor down (to avoid slips), but having some play in both directions, that is to say Thickness of the upper section of the sole body, that is the upper layer or layers together will be greater than the height of the links. In high soles, the straps (3) will be sewn under the layer that makes contact with the foot (2a and 2b), in cases where the type of sole makes it necessary, the model will add in its upper surface a heel (5), interchangeable or fixed, to avoid tearing or instability of the foot (Figure 8).
The shape, arrangement and material of the links (4) will depend on the models (metal, plastic, lined in the same fiber as the sole, etc .; in the form of rings, rectangles, buckles, etc.). Thus, for example, wide ribbons (3) will involve a smaller number of links (4) around the sole, to which they will have to be fastened by means of snaps, buttons, sailboat or some other system (6).
It is then vulcanized, sewn, etc., where the tapes (3) are attached to the sole. The sole is attached to the foot by passing through the eye of the links (4) a cord, a fabric, leather tape, straps, etc. (7). The shapes and colors of these straps, as well as the way in which they cross the instep and pass through the eye of the links, will depend on the taste and inventiveness of the user (Figures 8 to 11). He can design his espadrille or sandal on each occasion, completely changing the tapes (longer or shorter, of different colors, etc.) or just the way to arrange them, tie them or finish them off.
