With a clientele of most of the top NYC session and touring musicians, Roger began building his own electric basses in 1982. Roger soon became a well-known figure in the guitar and bass building community. With increased demand for Sadowsky Basses in the US, Europe and Japan, Roger partnered with his distributor in Japan to produce a more affordable line of basses. He trained Japanese builder Yoshi Kikuchi for 10 months so he could return to Japan and begin producing the all new Sadowsky MetroLine basses.
